1. Your Trip!

Tell us what you're looking for!

First up, download the Go So Local app from Google Play or The App Store.

Next, select either Local Places or Local Places + Chat if you'd like a dedicated local to chat with. Both packages come with personal, local recommendations and hand made itineraries!

Then tell us what it is you'd like to experience on your trip by sharing your interests and any bespoke requests you may have.

2. Your Places

Locally recommended places based on your tastes!

A member of the Go So Local team will be assigned to you. They'll be responsible for providing your recommendations from our locals.

You'll receive locally recommended places on your own, personal map! Each recommendation comes with a note from the local that recommended it, as well as links to its website, Instagram page where available, and directions so you can quickly find what you need.

3. Local Chat

Chat to a trusted, friendly local in the city you're visiting.

If you purchase the Local Places + Chat package, you'll be able to chat with your dedicated local contact. Your local will be on point to answer any questions you may have relating to your trip.

So whether you need suggestions on areas to stay in, questions about the ins and outs of navigating the city, or something else - you can trust your dedicated local to help you find the right answer.

Customers on the Local Places package will still be able to use in-app chat to speak with a member of the Go So Local team.

  • Local Places provides you with 40+ recommendations. Local Places + Chat provides you with 80+ recommendations.

  • When you’re provided recommendations, we’ll group them into routes for you. This is a grouping of some of your recommendations by location, and into a route that makes sense.

    It may start with breakfast, then lead you to a nearby site you may enjoy, then onto a cafe. Routes will vary in length, and in the number of recommendations within them - and they’re designed to make it easy for you to plan a morning, afternoon, evening or full day exploring.

    You can find these within “My Trips” and then by tapping “Routes” from the navigation of the Go So Local mobile app.

  • With Local Places + Chat, you receive more recommendations and itineraries, as well as being able to access in-app chat, allowing you to easily chat directly with your personal, assigned local.
  • Yes. You can buy your package on the website and then access your order via our mobile app. You’ll need to login to the mobile app with the same email address you used to make your purchase.

    Then, navigate to “My Trips” where you’ll be prompted to complete your order by providing your trip information, as well as your tastes and preferences.

  • Yes. You can buy your package through the mobile app.

  • Please allow up to 24 hours to receive your recommendations.

    However, we always try to get these to you as quickly as possible as we know you’ll be eager to look through them and get excited for your trip.

  • The recommendations you receive are provided by locals within the city you’re visiting. Every recommendation comes with a local note, and you can tap the photo of the local within the app to see their profile and more about them.

    Your personal recommendations will be chosen by a member of the Go So Local team based on your unique requirements, and by matching those to the recommendations our superstar locals have provided. You can view the Go So Local team members along with our roster of locals via the locals page of our website, or via the mobile app.

  • We work with a wide range of local people ranging from journalists, photographers, to bartenders and tour-guides. We don’t have a fixed criteria as to what determines a local other than them being local to the city they’re providing recommendations in.

    Some locals have reached out to us, some we’ve reached out to ourselves and we’re always on the lookout for passionate local people to share the places they love with us.

    The recommendations are then vetted and stored in Go So Local along with useful information to help you find them - such as the address, website and Instagram page

  • If you’ve purchased the Local Places + Chat then just tap the “My Trips” icon in the menu of the mobile app and then tap “Chat with your local”button to launch the chat.

    Currently chat supports text, images and links so that questions, thoughts and ideas are easily shared.

  • Our locals will always try to respond to you as quickly as possible, but please allow up to 24 hours for a response.

    Messages are monitored by the Go So Local team - so if something is urgent and time sensitive, they can always jump in to assist if needed.

    We’re in constant communication with our locals, and they’re all vetted and approved before being onboarded to Go So Local.

  • The locals all speak English, as well as the primary language of the country they are based in.

  • You can specify whether you’d like a male or female local in your trip preferences.
    We’re not currently offering the option to be assigned a specific local.

  • Team Go So Local are based in London, England.

  • We’re proud of the service we’ve built, and we’re confident you’ll love it too. You can see it in action before buying in a couple of ways.

    Just navigate to “My Trips” where you’ll find a sample of recommendations, routes and the ability to try out our local chat where Team Go So Local will be on standby to answer any questions you may have.

  • No. We don’t get commission, or take sponsorships or endorsements for the places we recommend. Go So Local is a paid for service for that very reason - so that the places you’re recommend are authentic, and based on what we believe you will like, rather than what advertisers want you to see.

  • No. Every conversation you’ll have through Go So Local will be with a person - either a member of the Go So Local team, or one of our friendly locals. You can find everybody from Team Go So Local as well as all of our locals on the Locals page of our website.

  • If you don’t like one or more of your recommendations, just let us know. We’re here to help you have the best possible experience on your trip, and if you’re not happy with your recommendations - we’ll provide new ones and check in with you to ensure you’re satisfied with them.
