How It Works

Our service is provided through the GoSoLocal mobile app. You can checkout here, via our website as well as through the mobile app. If you have any questions after reading this guide, just drop us a message and one of our friendly staff will be in touch with you. Or you can book a walkthrough with one of our team who will show you how the app works!

1.

Select your preferred package and tell us about you!

Download the GoSoLocal app from the Google Play store or The App Store. Then, enter your trip information including your likes, preferences, and unique tastes. Our locals like a challenge—nothing is too out there.

2.

You’re assigned a dedicated and friendly local!

A member of the GoSoLocal team will then assign you a dedicated and friendly local guide. Your local will then get to work on your recommendations and notify you once they’re ready. They’re quick, but please allow up to 24 hours for your recommendations.

3.

Your personal recommendations are ready!

You’ll be notified by email and push-notification once your recommendations are ready. You can then access your places in the mobile app and ask your local if you need any more.

  • It can take up to 24 hours to receive your recommendations.

  • Our locals want to be there for you 24/7, but they need to sleep, eat, and have lives of their own. If you message your local, you’ll get a reply within 24 hours - but we’ll always strive to be much quicker than that.

  • Your local can be contacted through your mobile chat app of choice. We support WhatsApp,, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, Line, and Email. You can launch the chat via the GoSoLocal app through the “My Trips” page. 

    You can specify your preferred chat app through the GoSoLocal mobile app. Select “Profile” and then “View and edit your profile”.

  • GoSoLocal is currently live in London, Barcelona and Seoul, with many more coming soon! 

  • As soon as you've completed your order and let us know your travel tastes and preferences, we'll assign your trip to a local. You'll then get notifications via email and mobile push letting you know the status of your recommendations. Once ready, you can click on 'My Trips' and start chatting to your local.

  • We’ll always aim to provide at least 10 recommendations for each day of your trip.

  • That's part of the fun! No endless scrolling for options or starting searches online. Just drop your local a note and share your thoughts, and they'll use their local knowledge to give you new recommendations.

  • Currently our locals speak Spanish, Chinese, Korean and English.

  • Yes, we support voice notes.

  • Your usage of GoSoLocal begins once your local has been assigned.

  • You can ask any questions you’d like relating to your trip. Please be mindful of our fair use policy, as outlined in our terms of service regarding this.

  • You local will suggest neighbourhoods you may like to stay in, and these will be visible via your GoSoLocal mobile application along with images, and information about each suggested location.
